Trent Deckard
Experienced leader. Eighth generation Monroe County resident. Loyal husband and father of two incredible daughters. Focused on making our community a safe place place from federal and state encroachment. Trent believes in access for all, good government that truly works for the people, affordability, sustainable practices, and quality of place issues like accessible housing that works for people’s budgets. He also believes in common-sense approaches that makes county services understandable and reachable to every residents. Trent believes that elected officials can work together, get good results for the people they represent, and make a positive impact. He also believes that it is the duty of elected officials to fight for those that struggle to advocate for themselves.

Family
-Married to Kyla Cox Deckard, Communication Director for IU’s Rural Center for Engagement, and a board member of the Community Kitchen.
-With Kyla, Trent has two incredible daughters that change their lives for the better, everyday.
-The Deckard family has been in the community for 9 generations and Trent proudly continues that tradition of calling Monroe County home
-Trent and his family are active members of First United Methodist Church in downtown Bloomington
